Bill Sucha was surprised last night (11/13) at the Irondale Fall Band Concert when he was awarded the VFW's Teacher of the Year from the New Brighton Area Post. He was nominated by one of his students, who wrote a compelling essay.
He will move into a regional VFW competition for teacher of the year and can continue on to the state level if he is selected at the regional level.
The Irondale Marching Knights need to replace their well-worn, torn and thread bare marching band uniforms. We’re going on 9 years with the current set – purchased in October of 2005. We hope to buy 150 new uniforms for use starting the fall 2014 season. Would you please consider making a donation towards the purchase of these uniforms?
An entire uniform donation will set you back $500.00 (wow – thanks!) or you can direct your donation to buy a pair of pants ($100), a jacket ($230), shako ($80), gauntlet ($50) or plume ($40).Whatever your budget will allow now that you’re out in the big world making the big bucks!Or, maybe you’ve had a couple years off of paying band fees.
Donate online from the secure band website:www.irondalebands.org (look in the lower right hand corner of the page)

We’re a registered 501(c)(3) organization so your donation will be tax deductible.
One hundred twenty current marching band members, staff (yep – Sucha, Gary, AC, Weber & Jess still here!), and boosters THANK YOUfor helping to continue the PROUD TRADITION of the MARCHING KNIGHTS!
